A geological project

 

A geological project. In order to publicize and popularize geosciences, we will visit geological sites selected for their exceptional beauty and their economic implications. Thus, we will target mines (Chuquicamata, Cerro Rico de Potosí, etc.), oil fields (Neuquén Basin), active volcanoes (Villarica Volcano, etc.), touristic sites (Torres del Paine, Atacama Desert, etc.) and agricultural regions (Mendoza vineyard). We will use each site to explain a geological phenomenon and/or illustrate the implications for humans. This selection is not absolute and will be adapted and improvised on route in respose to our encounters and observations (both with humans and geology), in order to keep a dynamic element to the exploratory nature our adventure.
